1. Definitions

Provider (or “The Provider”): Refers to Kitti Eva Orban (she/her), the psychologist and service provider at Orban Counselling. Client (or “The Client”): Refers to the individual receiving the psychological and advisory services from the Provider. Services: Refers collectively to Online Psychological Sessions, Parents Advice Sessions, and Group Sessions.

2. Scope of Services

2.1 Free Initial Consultation

The free 25-minute consultation is an informational meeting only. It does not constitute a therapeutic, coaching, or support session. The purpose of this meeting is for the provider to learn about the client’s situation and explain how her services may help the client. Based on this discussion, the parties can determine if they are a good fit to work together.

Upon booking, the client will receive an intake form to complete. While providing information is optional, sharing details about the client’s situation allows us to make the most of our 25 minutes. All information shared in this form is strictly confidential and handled in accordance with the Provider’s Privacy Policy.

2.2 Online Psychological Sessions

The primary service offered is online psychological mental support, delivered via video conferencing (specifically, Google Meet). The goal of these sessions is to support the Client’s mental health, provide psychoeducation, and offer specific skills to manage difficulties in everyday life.

2.3 Parents Advice Sessions

The Provider offers dedicated online Parents Advice Sessions, with a variable duration of between forty-five (45) and ninety (90) minutes, based on the Client’s preference. These sessions are conducted via Google Meet, but following with different booking and reminder procedures as other sessions therefore Client should contact the Provider if interested in this type of service.

2.4 Group Sessions

The Provider organises occasional Group Sessions, which are strictly in-person events. Participation in Group Sessions requires a formal application process followed by a selection procedure. Details regarding currently open groups, application criteria, and selection are available on the Provider’s website at https://orbancounselling.co.uk/.

3. Booking and Communication

Upon successful booking of an appointment, the Client will receive a unique link to the Google Meet session. A reminder of the scheduled appointment will be sent to the Client twenty-four (24) hours prior to the session start time.

4. Fees and Payment

4.1 Pricing

Current pricing for all Services is available on the Provider’s official website at https://orbancounselling.co.uk/prices/.

4.2 Payment Terms

Payment is due in full within twenty-four (24) hours following the completion of the session. Payment is to be made via bank transfer. An invoice containing the Provider’s full bank details will be sent to the Client by the end of the day on which the session took place.

4.3 Outstanding Payments

In the event of outstanding or delayed payment, the Provider reserves the right to immediately cancel all further scheduled appointments until the full outstanding amount has been received.

5. Nature of Psychological Practice and Emergency Disclaimer

5.1 Ethical Framework

The Provider adheres strictly to the British Psychological Society (BPS) ethical framework in the delivery of all Services.

5.2 Non-Emergency Service Disclaimer

The Provider’s services are not an emergency or crisis service. If the Client is experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or is in danger, they must immediately contact their local emergency services or utilize the dedicated crisis resources listed on the Provider’s website at https://orbancounselling.co.uk/in-crisis/. The Provider is not responsible for emergency interventions.

5.3 Availability

The Provider operates strictly within defined business hours, which are stated on the Provider’s website at https://orbancounselling.co.uk/. The Provider is not available for contact or crisis support outside of these stated business hours.

6. Termination of Session and Service

6.1 Client Termination

The Client is entitled to terminate any session at any time. Standard fees remain payable for the duration of the session held prior to termination.

6.2 Provider Termination (Immediate)

The Provider reserves the absolute right to immediately terminate a session without warning if the Client engages in certain prohibited behaviours, including but not limited to:

  • Rude, aggressive, or abusive behaviour towards the Provider.
  • Any verbal or non-verbal conduct that makes the Provider feel threatened, unsafe, or in danger.
  • Any illegal or harmful activity.

6.3 Consequences of Immediate Termination

In cases of immediate termination due to prohibited behaviour, the following consequences may apply:

  • The Provider may be legally obliged to report the incident to local law enforcement or the police if a criminal offence has occurred or if there is a perceived threat to safety.
  • All future sessions and service contracts with the Client will be immediately cancelled and permanently terminated.
  • The Client will remain liable for the full fee of the terminated session.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All information shared by the Client is confidential and subject to the professional ethical standards of the BPS. Confidentiality may only be broken in limited circumstances, including:

  1. If the Provider believes there is a serious risk of harm to the Client or to a third party.
  2. If the Provider is legally obliged to disclose information (e.g., by court order).
  3. For professional supervision (where the Client’s identity is protected).

The Client consents to the processing of their personal data in accordance with the Provider’s privacy policy, which is available on the website.

8. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

The Provider requests a minimum of twelve (12) hours’ notice for any cancellation or request to reschedule an appointment.

  • Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice will incur the full session fee to compensate the Provider for the lost time slot.
  • Cancellations made with more than 12 hours’ notice will not be charged.

8.3 No-Show Policy

In the event that the Client does not attend the scheduled online session, the Provider will wait for fifteen (15) minutes from the official start time. If the Client has not joined or made contact within this 15-minute period, the session will be considered a ‘No-Show’ and will be deemed to have been used, incurring the full session fee, which is immediately due for payment.

By booking an appointment and utilizing the services of the Provider, the Client acknowledges and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
